    New Designs

Am loving the new layout but am wondering if I would be able to offer a design for others who view your site and whether you would be updating the designs with new ones from other contributors.

    Re: New Designs

This is a great question. We would definitely encourage you to post free designs to our forums, making sure that you name the forum post appropriately and tag the posts so that other users can easily find them. You should be able to attach the file to your forum post. We do have file size limits, so make sure that you zip the design file in order to make the upload as economical as possible.

Please see the following post for more details on searching for free designs that other users have contributed.

If you would like to post a free design for others to use, please make sure that it is an original design that you have created yourself from non-licensed artwork. In other words, don't use something like a Disney character, because you did not create that character, or don't use Clip Art that is not licensed for general use.

To post a design, go to our General Discussion forum, and click on 'Write a New Post'. You will see a tab that says 'Options'. Click on it and then choose 'Add/Update' under File Attachment. Attach the file from your computer, create your message in the 'Compose' tab, add any appropriate tags (ie. Free Design), and save your post. An example of one that I have created as a general user is at:

Please note that any designs that violate copyright or licensing guidelines will be removed immediately at our discretion.

    Re: New Designs

Sorry--when I use the "Options" tab and attempt to attach my vp3 embroidery file, I am given an erorr message saying that it must be in a different format, generally a picture-type format, not an embroidery format.  So it appears I cannot attach my vp3 file.  Sorry.

    Submitting designs

    Hi there,

Although I have downloaded designs from here before, I have never submitted any of the designs I have digitized myself....

Having recenly digitized a cute ghost design for halloween, I thought I would contribute.... but I can't work out how! Am I blind or just thick? Huh?

If you can give me some simple, easy to follow instructions, I would love to add my designs to the online embroidery community.Big Smile

    Re: New Designs

From what I have seen from the new way you have offered up free designs I certainly would not entertain becoming a member.  Old designs have been recycled and nothing new is appearing.  And for those of us who can not afford membership and looked at other people's work for inspiration and to learn how to use the embroidery software, I feel I have been penalised.  Ann the Gran used to be a great site for free designs and constant contribution but it appears that greed has taken over.

    Re: New Designs

There is more to Ann's Club than free designs.

Machine embroidery is an expensive hobby.

I cannot find a sewing or quilting show that I can get free.  I have to have cable & a certain tier or buy a membership to view via the Internet.

Free lunches are becoming a thing of the past.

Everyday on TV or in the newspaper there are more reports of companies tightening their belts and cutting back.

I would rather pay my way than to do without.
