converting designs from pes to jef

I downloaded the designs to my desktop, but I can't open them. My customizer opens but the design is not there because it is a different format.   How do you convert the designs to JEF.  Also how do I know what size the designs are, BEFORE I download them.  Step by step directions would be nice.

    Thanks

Thanks for your comments. As this same question has appeared multiple times, our Support team has forwarded this issue to me.

The overwhelming majority of our free designs have always been available only in PES format. This was always the case on our old site, and continues to be the case on our new site.

Becoming an Ann's Club member does not affect the format in which designs are available. In reviewing this discussion in detail, I did notice that Ann's Club members prior to the move to our site would have seen a line saying that Ann's Club goodies are available in all major formats. Ann's Club goodies such as our free monthly phrases are indeed available in all major formats, but it is possible that some new users to our site may have understood this to mean that even our free designs were available in multiple formats. As mentioned above, this is not the case, and that line has been removed from anywhere it appeared to prevent any such future misunderstandings.

There are numerous ways to convert embroidery designs to your desired format. We recommend using Catalog Xpress. You can get information and a free trial at:

     http://www.annthegran.com/Product.aspx?t=1&i=2567

There is also a free program called Pulse Ambassador which has a similar functionality to Catalog Xpress if you're just looking for file conversion. You can find it at:

    http://www.pulsemicro.com/Product%20Pages/tdgmlbp/tdgmlbp_ambassador.htm

I hope this helps you maximize your enjoyment of our available services.

Ihave the same thing!!! The only way I could convert them was using the catalog express. It was sooo great, but they no longer have the trial version, and is very expensive to buy. Just looking around now to try do do what U are doing.

    why no jef files?

Why don't any of the free designs come in the jef format?

Changing PES to JEF so I can use.

My machine is a Janome, and uses JEF downloads. I tried to download 2 beautiful butterfly designs to put on a little girls t shirt, and it downloaded in PES.

Can anyone tell me how to convert pls. I know there is a conversion product, BUT as I'm new to this game, I don't know where to get it or how to use it.

You help would be gratefully accepted

    Thanks Jan V.

Hi, thanks for comments. Greg I went to the http://www.annthegran.com/Product.aspx?t=1&i=2567, downloaded this, and I can't find it, [:'(]Broken Heartnor can I use it even though I can't find it.Broken Heart (This is only a trial I realise and will not help in the long run as its too costly to purchase), but it would be good to be able to at least download some of your "freebies" so I can see what they come up like. A couple of other sites which do "freebies" do a convert for the download. Is it possible for annthegran to do this, this would be JUST GREAT. Its really difficult to "get yourself up and running" with embroidery without then hitting the wall of not being able to download.

Please annthegran, there are some gorgeous designs and I'd love to use them.

Hello, I have software that will open up many design formats including the format you say is what has always been available.  But I tried to download a ton of files and just downloading but now none of them seem to be actually downloaded.  If they are I can't find them on the comptuer.  Something is wrong, we do need specific instructions.  I have never had this problem with your web site.  Disappointed for now.  But I still love you AnnTheGran

If you can help me with instructions to discover why I don't get an open options, I usually see both save and open but I'm not seeing either on your web site.  Also when I go start documents -- after I thought I had downloaded, nothing was there, unless the zip is hiding from me.. No idea where to look

If Catalog Xpress isn't in your budget, you can try Pulse Ambassador, as described above. This works great and is very simple to use if you're just looking for a file converter.

Re: Changing PES to JEF so I can use.

I wish I knew how also, I'm also new at this and I don't know how to open them into the jef files.  I usually use the cd player and a cd hooked right to my 11000, or I down load from the cd to a jump drive and then put them in.  But I would love to use the japanese designs on this site.  Thanks crystal c.
