    Having problems downloading designs or logging in?

    We have compiled a list of common reasons why you may not be able to log in or access the free designs. Please read the information below before requesting support.

    Have you registered?

    Recently we have added the requirement to register to download free designs in an effort to reduce improper selling of the free designs. In order to download these designs, you must first login. If you have never registered before, you can do so by clicking the following link:
    Register as a New User

    You only need to register once. Once you have registered, you will be directed to the design pages where you can select which designs you would like to download. Please remember your user name and password that you provided when you registered, you can use your user name and password to sign in the next time you visit Annthegran.com. If you forget your user name and password do not worry, you can have it emailed to you by clicking the link below.
    I have already registered with annthegran.com but I do not remember my user name and password, please email it to me.

    Are you not able to sign in?

    If you have already registered and are you are unable to sign in, please make sure you are using the correct user name and password. User names and passwords are case sensitive. You can request to have your user name and password emailed to you. You can do this by clicking the link below.
    Please email my user name and password to me.

    After clicking the link above, you will be asked to enter your email address. Please enter your email address, the same one you used when you registered and click the Submit button. After entering your email address, you will receive an email in a few minutes with your user name and password. Remember to check to see if the email ended up in your Spam folder. If you have registered multiple times, the email will list all of your user names and passwords.

    If you are still unable to sign in and you are sure the user name and password is correct, your web browser may be set to block all cookies. Cookies are small text files that Web sites place in your computer to help your browsers remember specific information. Your web browser should be set to not block session cookies that have a privacy policy. This is the normal setting for most web browsers.

    Do you see the sign in screen?

    The sign in screen will appear after clicking on the picture of the design you wish to download with the left mouse button. Please click with the left mouse button on the image of the design that you wish to download. Do not right click on the image or click on the name of the contributor below the image. In the past you were able to right click on the image and select Save Target As. You can no longer download the designs in this way. You must left click on the image of the design.

    Are you using a download accelerator or other utility to download your designs?

    You must use your web browser to download designs on annthegran.com. Download accelerators and other utilities used to manage downloads will not work properly. Please disable these programs and try downloading again.

    If you have read the suggestions above and you still can not access the free designs, click the link below to submit a support request.

    About cookies and web browser security settings

    Cookies are small text files that Web sites place in your computer to help your browsers remember specific information. Your web browser should be set to not block session cookies that have a privacy policy. This is the normal setting for most web browsers.

    It is possible to set your browser to block all cookies. This can be done by you or it could be done automatically by some internet security software. Annthegran.com uses session cookies. You will not be able to sign in if all cookies are blocked. Check your browser’s privacy settings to make sure that the browser is not blocking all cookies. If you are using Internet Explorer, select Tools—Internet Options-Privacy.

    You should see:

    • If your Privacy setting is set to Block all Cookies, move the slider down one notch to High. This will allow you to sign in to our site. You may also wish to check the settings in the Security tab. You should see a screen like the one below:
    • If the Security level for this zone is set to High, please move the slider down one notch to medium. If this setting is set to Custom level, click the Default level button and move the slider to Medium. Click OK when you are done making changes.

    I can download my designs, but can't extract them to my 31/2 floppy. what am I doing wrong??

    After you downloaded the file ,right click on it and choose "send to" option which allows you to send it to floppy disk,otherwise you need an embroidery software to open them first then use "Save As" option to extract them to a floppy disk.

    If you do not have any embroidery software you can use our CatalogXP software to do this function as well as organizing,converting,resizing etc.

    I am downloading the designs to a thumb drive or what some call memory stick. When I try to read the design using my PED-Basic program nothing is showing. I can't extract the files like I used to. What has changed?

    When I try to download a free design, I get 2 links for downoad, but is saved is a "download free trial offer" document.

    I think there must be something else going on with the site, as I have never had trouble before the change.

    IF  you figure it out, please post for us. thank you.

    I did all the suggestions but still nothing.  I save it to floppy and then go to Embird like I always have before & there is nothing there no reference at all.  I have saved it to my documents & tried opening it from there. I get an email icon with nothing to open.   I checked other sites & am not having any trouble with their sites downloads.

    I reregisered 3 times. at first would not recognize my user name or password.  re registered, still no results. registered still no results. reregistered, still no results .  I have finally given up,

    whoever setup this new site forgot that most of us older computer users are not technically orientated. & have only minimal knowledge of  this modern  invention

    Please check the utility you use to unzip the files,sometimes there is an extra extension at the end of the file which does not allow you to read the file as *.pes.You can right click on the file and rename it or simply use Winzip from www.winzip.com.

    It took me a while, but I figured out how to do it.  I did go through the process of installing WinZip, but I am not sure it was necessary as I had a zip/unzip program already.  The problem is that when you are in free desings and you click to save the file, the file name defaults to "freedesign".  Before you click "save", you need to change the file name to the file name you choose, such as "freedesign.zip".  By adding the .zip, you can then unzip the file and save it as a .pes file (or the correct format for your program) and open with your software.  I hope this helps you.
