Me too!!  I am so fed up with computers!  I have downloaded just about everything there is to download, but I still can't open the designs.  The computer tells me the design has been successfully downloaded, and do I want to open it or save it to disc.  I have tried both ways, but I still can't access it.  All I want to do is sew.  Why do they make this computer component so difficult and frustrating.  I have been using computers for years, and sewing machine software is the hardest to use of all I have tried.  Can somebody out there help?

When electronics work correctly they are wonderful, but when they don't is is very frustrating.  Sad

Is this happening when you are using the MB to read the files?

You should also be able to see the design by opening it in the Color Editor.

I do not use the MB much anymore, and I do not recall this exact error message, but I do get an error message if Windows is trying to open a machine embroidery format....sometimes the fingers work faster than the "little grey cells".  Smile

We'll have to get you two sorted out. Computers are fun! They let us do a whole bunch of things we never used to be able to do! I have made it my personal mission to show everyone in this community who doesn't already know how much can be done with technology once it is understood. Of course, when one doesn't understand it, it can drive you nuts! It even drives me nuts somedays, and I'm supposedly an expert!

Our Support department will take care of you both first thing tomorrow morning, if they haven't already, but I thought I'd just pop in and let you know that we really want to hear from all of you as to what specifically is so frustrating, so that we can go ahead and make it better and easier. The great thing about technology stuff like software and web sites is that they can be improved and made better reasonably easily. We've been working on our free design downloading system on this new site and the new one, which we're testing now, has some big improvements that you'll be seeing on the site very soon.

I am having the same problem. I save the design to my computer, but when I want to open it, it is not in the folder I put it in.

    Please help

I am going to put my 1.5 cents into this mix.

Computers are fun!  They are interesting and give us so much more than we could ever have without them.

However, they have limitations.  Duh, I have more limitations than I want to say, and computers don't do everything we might like.

Computers in general cannot read the file formats for ME.  It is foriegn to the PC and we need to acquire a software like CatalogExpress to read our files.  Therefore, there is no preview available without CatalogExpress.

When you select 'save,' you may be saving to the 'temporary' area where the download has deposited the file.  You need to use "Save as" and be sure you place your design where you want it.  Getting to that 'temp' area is too much like work.  Be sure you save to your file area of choice.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of ME (Machine Embroidery)!  You will find it is the greatest craft that you will love to be frustrated by!  Check out some of the blogs here at ATG for lots of information and shortcuts.
