I was born in Toronto,
Canada, and moved to England with my parents where I later married. In
1965 the family (now with 5 children) moved to Australia where my
husband worked at the Carnarvon Tracking Station during the Apollo
program. Being 300 miles from the next town I made all dresses for my
daughters and myself. We liked the friendliness of the remote area so
later moved to to other areas like it where I carried on sewing. When
Alan, my husband, retired we moved to a holiday area called The Gold
Coast near Brisbane on the east side of Australia and to keep myself
active bought a Brother 2000 (8200) and Alan and myself unraveled the
mystery of PE-design with lots of trial and many errors! Later upgrading
to a Brother 2100 (8500) and PE-design version 3.
I now spend my time digitizing designs on our computer and making children's' clothes which are given to the Red Cross and other charities such as the local hospital. I may now be 70 years old but I have not lost my enthusiasm for sewing and digitizing with now over 10,000 designs in my files. |
